The Poulnabrone Dolmen
The Poulnabrone dolmen is one of the most famous in Ireland. Located in the Burren in County Clare, it is the most visited place in the area. It was originally used as a burial place by Neolithic farmers and dates back to between 3800 and 3200 B.C. “Poulnabrone” literally means “The hole of the sorrows”.
